- Do I need an account to vote?
- No. There is no sign-up and no login anywhere on the site. Draw a subject, press one of three buttons, done.
- How are subjects chosen?
- They are a hand-curated pool of divisive things — foods, garments, technology, everyday habits. There is no submission form yet, so nothing enters the pool automatically.
- Is my vote anonymous?
- Only aggregate percentages are ever shown, and no vote is attached to a public profile. The server does keep the requesting address so it can rate-limit ballot stuffing — the privacy page sets out what is stored.
- Can I vote on the same subject twice?
- There is no per-person deduplication today, only a rate limit per address. That is the honest limit of the method: read the totals as a running tally, not as a scientific poll.
- What does the net figure mean?
- Celebrate share minus hate share, in points. Positive means more celebration than hate; zero means the room is split. It is a distance from even, not a rating out of a hundred.
- Why is a row marked low sample?
- Because it has fewer than 10 votes. The split is still shown, but a handful of votes cannot carry a rank, so the board refuses to give it one.
- How do the four board tabs work?
- Most voted ranks by how many votes a subject has taken. Celebrated and Hated rank by those shares. Most divided puts the closest-to-even splits first.
- Can I get the numbers as data?
- The board and the counters are served as JSON at /api/results and /api/stats. There is no per-subject permalink and no embeddable badge yet.
- How do I suggest a subject?
- Write to us from the contact page. The pool is curated by hand, so a good divisive pick genuinely helps.
