Everything on this page is somebody else's work, used under a licence that asks for credit. A site that will not print a figure it cannot source should not be vague about the pictures and the letterforms either.
The emoji beside each subject are Twemoji. Copyright 2020 Twitter, Inc and other contributors, and the graphics are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.
They are stored in this site's own files as SVG rather than drawn from the reader's operating system. An emoji rendered by the device is a different picture on every phone, and a subject card that looks different to everyone is a bad card and an unreproducible share image.
What is not here
| Role | Typeface | Licence | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | Outfit | SIL Open Font License 1.1 | The wordmark, headings, stamps and column heads. Loaded through Next's font pipeline from Google Fonts and served from this domain, so no request goes to a font host while you read. |
| Body | Work Sans | SIL Open Font License 1.1 | Every sentence on the site, including this one. Loaded and served the same way. |
| Record | Spline Sans Mono | SIL Open Font License 1.1 | Anything that is a record rather than a sentence: a score, an n, a window, a date, a source line. A figure set in a proportional face changes width as it rolls, which is why the numbers here are monospaced. Where the layout has not loaded this face, the record style falls back to your system monospace stack and keeps its tabular figures. |
Licences are as declared by each package in the version this site ships. A full dependency tree is longer than a credits page is useful at; these are the ones a reader is looking at when they look at this site.
Parts of the plumbing are shared internal packages rather than anything written for this site alone.
The rules those parts follow are on the privacy page, since two of them touch what a reader's browser stores.
