Suggest a subject

One subject goes up a day, the same one for everybody. This is how something gets into that queue. Read the two rules below before you type: they are enforced by the form, not by goodwill.

The form

What gets in

A thing, not a person: Foods, garments, habits, formats, rules, objects. Never somebody's name, never a role, never a job title.
Never a group: Nothing that names people by religion, race, ethnic or national origin, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation or disability. The intake refuses these in code, bluntly, and it would rather refuse a fair subject than let one through.
Divisive, not disliked: The pool is for things a room genuinely splits over. A subject everyone agrees about produces a flat board and a boring day.
Not already in the pool: An exact duplicate is refused automatically. A near-duplicate is caught by the person reviewing.
One line of reason: 140 characters, optional. It is the argument for putting it in front of everybody for a day.

The queue is private

Nothing typed into this form is published anywhere until a person has read it and accepted it. That is not shyness about the queue: publishing user-typed text on arrival would make this site the publisher of whatever anybody types, and the whole point of the rules above is that this site chooses its subjects.

Nothing is waiting in the queue at the moment. An accepted subject is added to the pool and credited if a name was given. A rejected one is recorded with the reason, because a decision nobody wrote down is a decision nobody can check.

A subject that is accepted joins the daily rotation described on about, and is scheduled by hand rather than dropped in automatically.
