If something on this site is wrong, it should be easy to say so and possible to check what happened next. This form posts to the site and the result goes into a ledger anyone can read.
No answering time is published for this desk, so none is promised here. What is promised is the part that can be kept without anybody's permission: every correction is recorded when it arrives, and what was done about it is published on this page.
A correction is recorded the moment it arrives, before anything is sent anywhere. If the write fails you are told it failed, and nothing is quietly dropped.
Your words are not published on arrival. Until a person has read a correction, the ledger below shows only that something was received and when. Publishing whatever anybody types, the second they type it, would make this site the publisher of it.
Once a person has read it, the entry carries what was asked and what was done, in one line each, and it stays on this page. A resolved correction is not deleted, because the record of the mistake is part of the record.
A correction that changes a published figure also gets a dated entry in the changelog, naming the model version it was filed under.
