Reading history
One point per day, each of them the 30-day window ending that day. A day with no snapshot is a gap in the line, never a line drawn through it.
History starts when seven daily snapshots exist with a reading.
Daily snapshots with a reading so far: 0. A snapshot is written once a day and carries a reading only once the subject has ten counted ballots in the window.

A quarantined or excluded ballot is recorded and not counted, and nothing is ever deleted: releasing one makes it count again. The excluded figure is site-wide because the exclusion list stores a ballot id, a reason and a date, and not a subject, so a per-subject figure would be a guess. How exclusions work.

| YouGovAccessed 2026-09-14 | 15 Mar 2024to 10 May 2024 | Not published | Whether you would answer the door if a stranger knocked, and your reaction to an unexpected knock. The article draws on two YouGov Daily Questions surveys — March 15-18, 2024 (35,878 U.S. adults) and May 9-10, 2024 (9,640 U.S. adults) — and does not state which figure came from which survey, so n is left null and the field window spans both. | "About half of Americans (48%) would answer a stranger at the door"; "A majority of Americans 65 and older (59%) would answer the door if a stranger knocked. However, 23% would ignore the unexpected visitor"; "One-third (34%) say curiosity best describes their reaction to an unexpected knocker, while one-quarter (25%) are annoyed"; 5% say excitement. |

Why people split
The stereotype is that younger people will not answer the door, and the polling supports it as a gradient rather than a cliff: 59% of Americans 65 and over would open the door to an unexpected stranger, and the share falls steadily with each younger age band. What is more interesting is that the reluctance does not extend to neighbours. Majorities are willing to knock on a next-door neighbour's door to borrow something (53%) or to ask for help in an emergency (69%), and willingness to borrow is no higher among older people than younger ones. So the reticence is about unidentified callers, not about neighbourliness in general. The knock itself is also still very much alive among the young in its least useful form: 40% of Gen Z say they have played ding-dong ditch (knocking or ringing and running), which is a slightly higher share than Gen X. People have not stopped knocking on doors. They have stopped answering them.
