Reading history
One point per day, each of them the 30-day window ending that day. A day with no snapshot is a gap in the line, never a line drawn through it.
History starts when seven daily snapshots exist with a reading.
Daily snapshots with a reading so far: 0. A snapshot is written once a day and carries a reading only once the subject has ten counted ballots in the window.

A quarantined or excluded ballot is recorded and not counted, and nothing is ever deleted: releasing one makes it count again. The excluded figure is site-wide because the exclusion list stores a ballot id, a reason and a date, and not a subject, so a per-subject figure would be a guess. How exclusions work.

Why people split
Chokers are old enough that almost every generation has met a different one. Sumerian goldsmiths made them around 2500 BC, and they are listed as an ordinary women's accessory in the Talmud. They became an upper-class and ballet fashion in the late 1800s, peaking around 1900, partly because Queen Alexandra wore one to cover a scar; the jewelled and velvet versions were known as colliers de chien, or dog collars. Life magazine recorded the next turn in 1944, describing the choker as a dowager fashion of 40 years ago being taken up again by younger women. That recurrence is the reason the polling looks the way it does. YouGov finds Americans aged 18 to 29, 30 to 44 and 45 to 64 all landing near an even split, roughly a third positive against a third negative, while the over-65s fall to 17% positive and 34% negative. A design that keeps returning never settles into either a classic or a joke.
