Your verdict
One ballot per browser per day, counted the moment it lands. This is the same ballot and the same dedupe as the daily card; there is no second, weaker vote path on this page.

Reading history
One point per day, each of them the 30-day window ending that day. A day with no snapshot is a gap in the line, never a line drawn through it.
History starts when seven daily snapshots exist with a reading.
Daily snapshots with a reading so far: 0. A snapshot is written once a day and carries a reading only once the subject has ten counted ballots in the window.

A quarantined or excluded ballot is recorded and not counted, and nothing is ever deleted: releasing one makes it count again. The excluded figure is site-wide because the exclusion list stores a ballot id, a reason and a date, and not a subject, so a per-subject figure would be a guess. How exclusions work.

Why people split
Crocs were founded in 2002 by Scott Seamans, Lyndon Hanson and George Boedecker Jr as a boat shoe, moulded from a closed-cell resin the company calls Croslite. The shape was engineered for grip and drainage rather than looks, and the reaction was immediate: a 2006 Washington Post piece reported that lots of folks found them hideous, Tim Gunn said the clog looked like a plastic hoof, and Time listed them among its 50 Worst Inventions in 2010. The stock fell to 79 cents in late 2008 and 600 factory workers were laid off. What changed afterwards was not the shoe but who was wearing it: pandemic demand for casual house footwear, plus designer collaborations, made the ugliness the point. The YouGov crosstabs show the inversion clearly. Americans aged 18 to 29 split 42% positive to 25% negative, while those aged 45 to 64 split 26% to 47%. Two generations are looking at an unchanged object and reading it in opposite directions.
