Your verdict
One ballot per browser per day, counted the moment it lands. This is the same ballot and the same dedupe as the daily card; there is no second, weaker vote path on this page.

Reading history
One point per day, each of them the 30-day window ending that day. A day with no snapshot is a gap in the line, never a line drawn through it.
History starts when seven daily snapshots exist with a reading.
Daily snapshots with a reading so far: 0. A snapshot is written once a day and carries a reading only once the subject has ten counted ballots in the window.

A quarantined or excluded ballot is recorded and not counted, and nothing is ever deleted: releasing one makes it count again. The excluded figure is site-wide because the exclusion list stores a ballot id, a reason and a date, and not a subject, so a per-subject figure would be a guess. How exclusions work.

The rows above are rolling 30-day counts only in the final row. Every other row is a one-shot measurement by its publisher, on its own question, with its own method. They are placed together so they can be compared, not because they are comparable.
Why people split
The video doorbell is a recent object - the Ring, created by Jamie Siminoff, reached the market in 2013, with Google's Nest Hello following later - and the argument about it has always been about what else is in the frame. The device wakes when a visitor presses the button, or when its motion sensor detects someone approaching, then streams HD infrared video and two-way audio to a phone anywhere in the world; some models will unlock a connected smart lock remotely. That combination is both the appeal and the complaint, because a camera pointed permanently at a doorstep is also pointed at a pavement and a neighbour's path. The security record has not helped. In 2016, researchers at Pen Test Partners showed that an attacker could unscrew a Ring unit from the wall, press its setup button and reach a configuration URL that exposed the household's wireless network. The same year, a database mix-up let Ring users watch live footage from complete strangers' front porches.
