Reading history
One point per day, each of them the 30-day window ending that day. A day with no snapshot is a gap in the line, never a line drawn through it.
History starts when seven daily snapshots exist with a reading.
Daily snapshots with a reading so far: 0. A snapshot is written once a day and carries a reading only once the subject has ten counted ballots in the window.

A quarantined or excluded ballot is recorded and not counted, and nothing is ever deleted: releasing one makes it count again. The excluded figure is site-wide because the exclusion list stores a ballot id, a reason and a date, and not a subject, so a per-subject figure would be a guess. How exclusions work.

| YouGovAccessed 2026-09-14 | 6 Aug 2018to 8 Aug 2018 | 1,632 | AMTP_Q5. As a reminder, by 'holiday', we mean any entitled break, or annual leave taken from work for any length of time. If you felt you had the choice, would you prefer to completely "switch off" whilst on holiday (i.e. have no work-related thoughts, not have to check emails etc.), or stay on top of what was going on at work? [Base: All GB workers who use email and have a manager] |
Why people split
The usual assumption is that bosses demand it. YouGov's data says otherwise. Asked how often they check work email on holiday, British workers who use email for work split 40% never, 16% rarely, 19% sometimes, 15% often and 10% very often. Asked what they would prefer if the choice were theirs, 80% said they would rather switch off completely and only 17% would rather stay on top of things. But asked whether their manager would expect them to check in, just 5% said definitely and 10% probably, against more than four in five who said their manager probably or definitely would not. YouGov's own write-up concludes the pressure 'could be self-inflicted'. One group breaks the pattern: among those who check very often, 47% actually prefer staying informed, close to the 50% who would rather disconnect. So a single behaviour contains two different populations: a minority who want the information, and a much larger group doing something they say they do not want to do.
