Reading history
One point per day, each of them the 30-day window ending that day. A day with no snapshot is a gap in the line, never a line drawn through it.
History starts when seven daily snapshots exist with a reading.
Daily snapshots with a reading so far: 0. A snapshot is written once a day and carries a reading only once the subject has ten counted ballots in the window.

A quarantined or excluded ballot is recorded and not counted, and nothing is ever deleted: releasing one makes it count again. The excluded figure is site-wide because the exclusion list stores a ballot id, a reason and a date, and not a subject, so a per-subject figure would be a guess. How exclusions work.

Why people split
'Touch base' is a baseball metaphor doing office work, and in YouGov's 2024 survey of British business decision makers it finished near the bottom of the pile while still, just, coming out positive: 49% liked it and 43% disliked it, the narrowest winning margin of any phrase tested. The pattern in the results is that the phrases people like are the ones naming something specific and awkward to say otherwise: KPI at 77%, elevator pitch at 58%, pain point at 57%. The phrases people dislike are the ones that stand in for a meeting with no stated purpose; 'circle back' was the only phrase where dislike won outright, at 47% to 42%. 'Touch base' sits exactly on that boundary, because it has two uses. It can mean a genuine two-minute check-in, or it can mean a calendar invite with no agenda, and a respondent's verdict probably depends on which one they last received. Unfamiliarity is not the explanation: everyone surveyed was a business decision maker, so nobody was judging it from outside.
